All of discovery, including the user research. The full week, including the Saturday held in reserve. Every output. Both reviews afterwards. Where it runs in person, the workspace is provided free of charge.
The fee is the same wherever it runs. In person is what I recommend. Remote is available.
Three things sit outside the fee.
We will not work with a business that competes directly with you. Not a workshop, not an advisory appointment. That holds for your whole engagement and for six months after your last day. If we also advise you, the six months starts when that ends.
Direct competition means serving substantially the same primary customer with substantially the same primary offering. The same sector is not direct competition, nor is the same technology. Where the position is arguable, you decide. We tell you before accepting the other appointment, and it is not accepted if you object.
The reason is that discovery is total. Your financials, your roadmap, your data, your user research, and what each of your team privately thinks. Once we have seen that, we cannot un-see it. Counsel cannot be split between two companies that compete.
We do not take tokens or equity, and the reason is one you want to hear. Being paid in your token changes where an adviser's attention goes. Which client gets what changes with the direction the price moves.
Optimising the price of an asset is different work from building the company underneath it. Your token or your equity should do well because the business grew. Holding a position puts us on the other side of that.
We charge a fee, and it is the same for every client in the same segment. We hold no position in any client's tokens, shares or securities, however acquired. That is what keeps the work worth having.
